Counselling in Worthing

In‑person, online or walk and talk counselling for life’s difficult moments, from grief to everyday overwhelm

Grief and loss can take the ground out from beneath you, altering life in ways you never expected. Whether it’s the death of someone you love, the ending of a relationship, a pregnancy loss, or a change in your health or circumstances, these moments can reach into every part of you.

Counselling offers a space where you can speak openly about the parts of your life that may feel overwhelming, painful, or hard to share with those around you. It’s a place to explore the waves of emotion, the numbness, the questions, the guilt, the love, and the longing that often accompany grief.

Other people seek support becauselife has become stressful, uncertain, or out of balance— anxiety, relationship difficulties, burnout or simply feeling stuck. Whatever you’re navigating, counselling provides a steady, compassionate space to understand your experience and find a way through.

I offer a free 30‑minute consultation, either online or face to face. This is an opportunity to talk through what you are hoping for and to see whether working together feels like a good fit. If you choose to meet in person, I work from a lovely, quiet campervan on my driveway, close to the sea - a calm and confidential space. If you prefer to be out in nature, I also offer walk and talk therapy.

I’m a qualified humanistic therapist, based in Goring‑by‑Sea, West Sussex. My counselling approach is rooted in person‑centred values. I draw on different therapeutic tools when they’re useful, while keeping the focus on understanding your experience and working alongside you.

My route into counselling began long before I trained. I spent many years working as a registered nurse and health visitor, sitting with people during some of the most vulnerable and intimate moments of their lives. Those years taught me the importance of slowing down, really listening, and meeting people exactly where they are.

Later on, I worked as a personal trainer and nutritional consultant, which gave me a deeper appreciation of how closely our emotional and physical health are linked. It also showed me how much difference it makes when both sides of our wellbeing are explored together.

My time with Samaritans, Cruse Bereavement Support and Pregnancy Options Centre, along with my own experiences of bereavement and loss, have shaped the way I sit with people now. I’ve learned that what most of us need is someone who is steady, compassionate and present for us whilst we make sense of what we’re carrying.

Outside the therapy room, you’ll often find me by the sea or spending time with my family. Being a parent and grandparent is central to my life, and getting out in the fresh air, going for a run and having my dog alongside me are the things that keep me grounded.
